You can add a new default search engine option to Arc for desktop by following these steps:
macOS
- Open Settings from Arc > Settings from the Mac Menu Bar or the Command-Comma shortcut
- Go to Profiles and select a Profile to add a search engine option
- Click "Search Settings…" to visit Arc’s Chromium settings
- From Site search, click "Add"
- Enter the following information about the search engine:
- Name (example: Ecosia)
- Shortcut (example:
ecosia.org
) - URL with %s in place of query (example:
https://www.ecosia.org/search?q=%s)
- Click "Add"
- Click the vertical three-dot icon next to the new search engine and click "Make default"
Windows
- Open Settings from Arc menu > Settings or the Control-Comma shortcut
- Go to Profiles and select a Profile to add a search engine option
- Click "Advanced Search Settings" to visit Arc’s Chromium settings
- From Site search, click "Add"
- Enter the following information about the search engine:
- Name (example: Ecosia)
- Shortcut (example:
ecosia.org
) - URL with %s in place of query (example:
https://www.ecosia.org/search?q=%s)
- Click "Add"
- Click the vertical three-dot icon next to the new search engine and click "Make default"
